Open Data Policy

The Journal supports the principles of Open Science and encourages authors to provide open access to research data in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

1. General Provisions

Authors are required to ensure the availability of the data underlying the results of their research, except where access is restricted by ethical, legal, confidentiality, or other justified considerations.

2. Data Repositories

Research datasets should be deposited in one of the following repositories:

  • institutional repositories of research institutions or universities;
  • national research data repositories;
  • international open data repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare, Dryad, etc.).

3. Data Identification Requirements

  • each dataset must have a unique identifier (DOI or another persistent identifier);
  • the dataset DOI must be included in the article metadata;
  • the manuscript must contain a reference to the corresponding dataset;
  • dataset metadata should comply with internationally recognized metadata standards.

4. Quantity and Completeness of Datasets

Authors should ensure that all datasets necessary for reproducing the results of the study are deposited and made available. The number of deposited datasets should correspond to the scope and complexity of the research.

If multiple datasets are used, each dataset should be deposited separately and assigned its own DOI.

5. Data Availability Statement

If open datasets were used during the research or if the study generated data that may be useful to other researchers, the article must include a Data Availability Statement specifying:

  • the location of the dataset(s);
  • DOI or other persistent identifiers (URL, Handle, etc.);
  • conditions of access to the data;
  • access restrictions (if any) and the reasons for such restrictions.

If the study did not involve the use or generation of datasets, the author(s) should indicate this in the Data Availability Statement.

Example:

“This study did not involve the use or generation of datasets requiring separate archiving or deposition in an open repository.”

6. Exceptions

Where data cannot be made openly available (for example, due to confidentiality requirements or legal restrictions), authors must provide a justified explanation in the Data Availability Statement.

7. Compliance with International Standards

The Journal's Open Data Policy complies with the FAIR principles, recommendations of international organizations promoting Open Science, and DOAJ requirements regarding the transparency and accessibility of research data.
